Pathway to Planting

The Chicago Central District has helped develop and partnered with an organization called MULTIPLYNAZ, whose mission is “to resource healthy, multiplying Nazarene churches and districts.” We encourage you to visit the multiplynaz.org website, where you will find lots of information about how to plant a church, the pathway to planting we encourage all of our church planters to follow, 22 different models of churches we have across the United States, information about Assessment, opportunities for training through DCPI and other events, information for building a Church Development Plan, and more. Our district uses a simple pathway to planting we encourage all of our churches to study and understand. Across the years we have watched hundreds of church planters who became very effective as they paid attention to both quantity and quality.  We want more church planters and better church planters.  This is why we encourage you to study and follow the Pathway to Planting.  When properly followed, we believe 1) Prayer, 2) God’s Call, 3) Orientation, 4) Assessment, 5) Training, 6) Church Development Plan and 7) Mentors will make a long-term difference in the quality of your church plant.  We look forward to working with you on the Chicago Central District!

If you are thinking to yourself, I’m not ready to plant a church yet but I have a hunger to reach out and minister to people who are just beginning their journey toward faith. You may simply want to launch a mission point. We have identified 167 unreached communities, villages, towns and neighborhoods with a population of 10,000+ people who do not have a mission point, church type mission or fully-organized church. Every one of these communities needs a new intentional witness to the love of Christ. We are committed to resource you in every way we can as you prepare to lead a healthy, multiplying Nazarene ministry or church.
