Once a year, our district gathers for District Assembly, bringing pastors and churches from across the district together in one place to recognize the ways God is at work among us and to celebrate where He is leading us. This year’s theme, Becoming Christlike Disciples, calls us to center our lives and leadership on being continually shaped by Jesus as we fulfill the Great Commission. As we gather, we will share stories of God’s faithfulness, celebrate what God is doing across our district, and be encouraged and equipped for the mission ahead. Join us for this meaningful time of renewal, connection, and hopeful anticipation for the future God is forming among us!
DISTRICT ASSEMBLY SCHEDULE
FRIDAY, APRIL 10
6:30p - Opening Session (Registration opens at 5:30p)
Our opening session will feature times of worship, the District Superintendent’s report, recognitions, and celebrations.
SATURDAY, APRIL 11
8:30a - Session 2 (Registration re-opens at 8:00a)
The morning session will include an inspirational message from the General Superintendent, district elections, and reports from our district boards and committees.
10:45a - Session 3
This final session will incorporate updates from Nazarene Discipleship International, our missional and resourcing focus for the year, and a message from Pastor Kevin Jack.
2:00p - Ordination Service
A sacred service recognizing the ordination of ministers and celebrating God’s call, faithfulness, and work through their lives.

DR. FILIMÃO CHAMBO
GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT
Dr. Filimão M. Chambo was elected to the office of general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene in June 2017. He was director of the Africa Region at the time of his election, a post he had held since 2009. As regional director, Dr. Chambo was responsible for overseeing the church planting and development efforts of the Church of the Nazarene across the continent of Africa.
Before serving in the regional office, Chambo’s ministry experience included pastoral positions and Christian higher education. He served as pastor in South Africa for the Mphagane and Eldorado Park Churches of the Nazarene and in Mozambique at Igreja do Nazareno da Matola Cidade. He was an educator at NTC, South Africa, and at Seminário Nazareno em Mozambique where he later became president. In 2005, Dr. Chambo was named education coordinator for the Africa Region, where he served until his appointment as regional director in 2009.
Filimão is married to Samantha, who is also an ordained elder, and they have two children, a daughter, Tsakani Gabriella, and a son, Emanuel.
PASTOR KEVIN JACK
GUEST SPEAKER
On April 3, 2022, Kevin Jack became the Lead Pastor at Church For The ONE. Prior to coming to Lakeland, Kevin was the Lead Pastor at Be Hope Church in Beavercreek, OH for five and a half years. He was born in West Chester, OH and grew up at the West Chester Church of the Nazarene where he met his future wife, Bethany, in Youth Group.
Kevin believes the Church is the greatest force for good that exists in the world and desires to see everyone live out their calling with courage and compassion. Kevin and Bethany have four children: Madi, Emily, Molly, and Parker.
