CHICAGO CENTRAL DISTRICT TO BEGIN
MAJOR CHURCH PLANTING EFFORTS IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO!

In his report to the 103rd District Assembly, Dr. Brian E. Wilson announced the goal of establishing 5 new churches in the city of Chicago in the 2007-08 church year.  Five additional churches are to be established in 2008-09. Currently, only 10 Nazarene churches minister within the city limits.  Current plans would double that number by 2009. Those 20 churches would then be challenged to partner with suburban churches to plant another 20 churches in the following two years, bringing the total number of congregations to 40 by 2011.  Chicago has a population of nearly 3 million persons, living in 77 neighborhoods.

Mrs. Yvonne Chalfant Announces District NMI
Attains Mission Priority One Status!

Mrs. Yvonne Chalfant, in her tenth report to the 2007 District NMI Convention, announced that the local churches had fulfilled requirements that helped the District attain the status of Mission Priority One. Mission Priority One requirements are set by the International Ministries Offices, and include criteria of giving for missions, participation in mission projects, praying for missions, and mission education in the local church.

The theme for the Missions Convention was "Seize the Cross, Bring It Home". Mrs. Chalfant challenged the Convention to make our homes a mission field, giving attention to winning our families and friends for Jesus.
