Rev. Cindi Schimmelpfennig
District SDMI Chairperson Rev. Cindi Schimmelpfennig was elected at the 2004 District Assembly of the Chicago Central District, to serve as the District Chairperson for Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International. Pastor Cindi graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1981 with a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education; Masters program in Church Management; Ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene. Cindi is currently serving in her eleventh year at Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene. She is the Executive Pastor of Family Life Ministries at Kankakee First Church and has 22 years of ministry experience teaching and equipping children and those who work with them. (She began her ministry here in 1992) Cindi also served as Children’s Pastor & Junior High Pastor at First Church. Her current responsibility is Executive Pastor to the Associate Ministry Staff and families of First Church. Cindi believes that when children through young adults are given an environment that communicates the love of Jesus, they will discover and desire the gift of salvation by asking Jesus into their heart. When children through young adults are seen as disciples in training, and not as followers in waiting, they will be attracted to living a life of ministry and worship. Cindi’s ministry passion is creating an environment where children through young adults can experience, participate, and enjoy worship and ministry. Her ministry highlight is spending time with children through young adults in the summer. She loves going to camp, taking field trips, doing water parks, and chaperoning missions trip. Her hobbies include attending ONU sporting events, following Chicago Bear football, and shopping.
