Welcome Local Church Treasurers!
Download Monthly Giving Reports to the District Ministries Unified Fund and the Olivet Educational Fund. These files are PDF (Adobe Acrobat) files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer to be able to read these files. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, you may download it free from Adobe's Site. The reports are posted after the close of the month's financial books. The reports will reflect what has been received by the district treasurer and processed at the end of each month. The reports list all local churches, what has been received during the month, Year-to-Date, the annual budget figure and the percentage paid Year-to-Date. The fiscal year runs from May 1 through April 30 each year. We recommend churches adopt a 10-month payment plan, paying 10% of all budgets each month from June through March, with April and May as months to close our the financial reports and prepare reports for District Assembly. No monthly reports are posted on this site for the month of May, the first month of the fiscal year. A suggestion that worked at Chicago Heights Church: If churches will adopt the 10-month plan, and pay the 11th and 12th month into a savings account for apportionments, after 5 years, they will be able to pay all apportionments up front at the beginning of the year. 2007-08 Fiscal Year
While our fiscal year ends April 30, funds may still be sent in and applied to the previous fiscal year during May and June, giving churches the opportunity to reach 100% of their giving goal by District Assembly. For Reports on your local church's giving to World Evangelism Fund and Pensions and Benefits Fund, visit the General Treasurer's WebPage at www.nazarene.org.
2. Establish an
FEIN Establishing an Employer Identification Number using Form SS-4. Each separate organized church should have its own unique taxpayer identification number. This is a federal number and is commonly referred to as a FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number). While you can find services online that will help you with this for a fee, the Internal Revenue Service has already made the forms and instruction available to you. You may either fax the form in, mail it in, or apply by phone. If you have all the information ready, preferably with a hard copy form filled out, the phone conversation takes about 15 minutes and your number is assigned to you by phone. The fax or mailing process is very fast and can yield a number within a week. The phone number to call is 1-866-816-2065. The fax number is 1-859-669-5760. (These numbers are for Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan only). To download instruction (Adobe PDF file) click here. To download the SS-4 form (Adobe PDF) click here.
